Monday September 4 - Friday September 8

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Last week I attended a 2-day Principals’ Retreat hosted by Lutheran Education Queensland. These gatherings afford us, as Principals, the opportunity to slow down, share, listen deeply and reflect on how the journey at our respective schools is unfolding. It affirmed to me that even though we don’t get it right at Concordia every day, we are on a very healthy trajectory as a learning community. This is all possible due to the incredible calibre of student, staff and parent community which make up our College. Thank you for your ongoing loyalty and support of the College.

Paul Morton Choral Festival

The College Choir and Con Voce performed in the Paul Morton Choral Festival at the Empire Theatre on Tuesday 22 August 2023. This year’s festival brought together choral groups from many of Toowoomba’s secondary schools for a night of singing and entertainment and ended with a combined massed choir finale featuring approximately 300 students. The community spirit and encouraging atmosphere along with the College’s terrific feedback from the guest adjudicator, other conductors and students in other choirs makes this one of the highlight Choral events of the year. Thank you to Mr Neil Roche-Kelly for preparing our students for this event and our accompanist Mrs Elizabeth Gordon.

See you in September

Â鶹´«Ă˝ has made a change to the dates of the Open Morning. It was scheduled for the morning of August 8, but will now be a week of “See you in September”.

This new event will take place for a week from September 11th and will offer opportunity to view the College and its facilities, as well as meet teachers and members of the staff. It will help families see the authentic College environment and ask questions of both staff and students.

As always, parents and carers are welcome to come and inspect any of our Concordia campuses on any school day of the week.

We look forward to seeing you in September! If you would like to register your interest to visit one of the mornings of this week, please send an email to Enrolments@concordia.qld.edu.au and be on the lookout for more information. Write the new dates in your calendar.

Junior Engineers

Get ready to hone your tech skills these holidays with fun-filled and engaging coding and robotics workshops. See flyer for more details.

CLC Choral Showcase

Monday evening we gathered to celebrate the Choral program from Years 3-12 at the College. Each choir was featured before a combined massed finale performance in our SSC Chapel. Opportunities such as this play such crucial roles in our singing culture which is continually growing at the College.

Being in a choir not only improves and fosters teamwork, it enhances musicality, boosts confidence and provides a sense of community. It offers opportunities for personal growth and can be a source of stress relief and enjoyment.

Thank you to our conductors and accompanist; Hayley Sugars, Neil Roche-Kelly, Kym Troy and Elizabeth Gordon, who work with our students weekly and provide a working team where success in enabled.
