The New Reed Quartet (USA)
The group had its genesis one afternoon not long after the attack on the World Trade Center. As shell-shocked as the rest of the city, clarinetists and friends Perry Robinson and Matt Snyder tried that day to work out some of their feelings in music, and an intense improvisational jam led to the idea that they form a band together. Robinson, who had mentored Snyder for over a decade, suggested a partnership with the duo of Mark Whitecage and Rozanne Levine, bringing together long-standing working and personal relationships.
